If you have scarves that you no longer wear, if you have made scarves and don’t know where to send them, or if you have knitted or crochet a scarf and don’t love it …. Please consider donating your scarves to this worthy cause.

Average width of FINISHED scarf:

• Child 3 – 4 years: 10 cm
• Child of 4 -5 years: 10cm
• Child 6 – 10 years: 10-15cm
• Ladies 15 -18cm
• Men 15 – 20cm

AVERAGE lengths of scarf (excluding tassels)

• Child 3 – 4 years: 75 cm
• Child of 4 -5 years: 100cm (1meter)
• Child 6 – 10 years: 150cm (1 1/2 meters)
• Ladies 180cm
• Men 2 meters

PLEASE note – these are guidelines only.

Please label your scarf before donating (ie suitable for a child aged 4-5 years)

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR DONATION IS CLEARLY MARKED WITH YOUR FULL NAME AND DESCRIPTION OF DONATION. AFTER DELIVERY LOG YOUR HOURS AND THE NPO WILL VERIFIY.

• 3 Service Hours – 1 HOMEMADE KNITTED or CROCHET scarf OR
• 1 Service Hour for every donation of 3 previously loved but shop-bought scarves OR
• Fleece scarves or
• Homemade Fleece scarves should be double thickness

What to do next:

Once you’ve collected everything and it meets the donation requirements,

• Book your donation on the site.
• Download and fill in the delivery note so you can keep track. https://volunteernow.co.za/download-delivery-note/
• Snap a photo of your donation for your LO portfolio,
• Drop it off at the collection point with the delivery note, call before to arrange a convenient time, then
• Upload your proof of delivery and book your hours.

 Please note: Verified hours are awarded based on the value of goods or services donated, calculated at R250 per hour.
